MADD Is Here to Help

MADD Orange County Offers Free Victim Services to All Victims and Survivors of Drunk Driving Crashes

Tustin, CA (April 10, 2009) – Mothers Against Drunk Driving regrets the passing of Nick Adenhart, Courtney Stewart and Henry Pearson.  Our sincerest condolences go out to their friends and family during this difficult time.

Unfortunately there are over 85 families every year in Orange County who lose a loved one to an impaired driver and thousands more who are injured. Victims and survivors aren’t prepared for the sudden death or injury of someone they love.

MADD understands and is here to help.

We’re a hand to hold, an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on.  MADD offers the following services free of charge to all victims and survivors of drunk driving crashes:

  • Literature
  • Emotional support
  • Monthly support group
  • Information about court proceedings and your rights
  • Court accompaniment
  • Advocacy – speaking on your behalf
  • Referrals to additional community resources
"Drunk drivers kill with impunity, affecting every economic and demographic sector in America. It has to stop," said Gail Butler, MADD Orange County’s Executive Director, who has offered help to the Angels front office with crisis counseling to the victims’ families.

We ask the public to tell family, friends and colleagues who’ve been impacted by drunk driving to call MADD for help.  Drunk driving victims and survivors can find support by calling the Orange County office at (714) 838-6199.  We also have a 24-hour victim assistance line available at 1-877-MADD-HELP

MADD’s mission is to eliminate drunk driving, support the victims of this violent crime and prevent underage drinking.

MADD is a 501(c)(3) charity with approximately 400 offices and 2 million members and supporters nationwide.  Founded in 1980, MADD has helped save more than 330,000 lives.
