Economic Impact of Drunk Driving on Orange CountyEstimated economic impact of alcohol-related crashes to Orange County is more than $224.2 million per year to Orange County's businesses. (For all of California the impact is over $2.5 billion.) This includes lost wages and fringe benefits, lost special skills, retraining, recruitment if needed to replace the person, health insurance, workers' comp insurance, disability insurance, motor vehicle insurance, replacement/repair of vehicle, property damage, etc. The highest-risk group overall continues to be people who are in the labor force when they are involved in a alcohol-related crash. (more than 68%). The highest-risk groups - by age - are between the ages of 16 and 24, and the group
