The 11th Annual Community Recognition Awards Our annual awards recognize outstanding members of the community who have contributed to efforts related to MADD's mission. These people's efforts have led to the reduction in alcohol-related crashes, death and injury in Orange County as well as helping improve education about the dangers of drinking and driving.
MADD Orange County wants to extend a personal "thank you!" to all of those in our community who are exerting themselves every day to make a difference. As Lisa Lowhurst so fittingly said, "One person can make a difference." And among the officers, prosecutors, corporations and volunteers, we see dozens of people who are giving their time to improve our future. Among these is Mitsubishi Motors, who was awarded MADD's Corporate Diamond Service Award for the positive impact that their efforts have on our the entire community. The Individual Diamond Service Award was also presented, with great pleasure, to Barbara Taylor. The strength of our organization is due in a large part to the strength, professionalism, dedication and understanding of this remarkable woman. Corporations and individuals who follow these examples, using whatever resources they have to give, become a part of the solution. There are many families that remain intact as a result of others' commitment to take action against impaired driving.
